Build a resume that is easy to scan, ATS-friendly, technically strong, and tailored to the role you actually want.
How a strong resume should look
- Keep it simple — Use a clean professional layout with clear headings, consistent spacing, readable fonts and no unnecessary decoration.
- Make the top section immediately useful — Name, target role, phone, professional email, LinkedIn, GitHub and portfolio should be easy to find.
- Prioritize relevance — The recruiter should understand what role you are targeting within a few seconds.
- Use strong bullets instead of paragraphs — Explain what you built, what you did, which technologies you used and what result you achieved.
- Show evidence of skills — Do not simply write "Python", "React" or "SQL". Demonstrate them through projects, internships, work or achievements.
- Use numbers when they are real — Users, performance improvements, datasets, features, scale or other measurable outcomes can make a bullet stronger.
- Keep the formatting consistent — Dates, headings, bullet styles, capitalization and spacing should follow the same pattern throughout the resume.
- Remove anything that does not help your application — A resume is not your complete life story. It is a focused representation of your most relevant qualifications.

- Clear identity — Your name, profile photo, short bio and professional links should immediately tell someone who you are and what you are working toward.
- Strong projects first — Showcase your best and most relevant projects instead of trying to display every repository you have ever created.
- Every important repository should explain itself — A recruiter should understand the project's purpose, technology, features and setup without guessing.
